Mail.ru Group announced the creation of a platform that allows you to create news and reportage videos of studio quality in a few clicks. Such news will be read by a virtual announcer, and the user can add images, music, titles and even add links to the final video. The company notes that everyone can now produce video clips in TV format – from large media outlets to ordinary bloggers.

To create a video, you just need to upload the news text to the system, after which the virtual presenter will read it out. At the same time, the announcers look and talk as if they were alive: when reading news, they realistically reproduce facial expressions, react emotionally and even place semantic accents. Users can set the desired appearance of the announcer from several digital models, which are based on real people. In addition, you can change the design of the studio – for example, arrange it in corporate colors.

The platform, according to the Mail.ru Group, will be useful both for actively experimenting large publications and small niche media. Using a video editor will help you save money on creating high-quality video content and release stories in a short time. At the same time, videos from professional media platforms, which will be authorized by the editors of “Look Mail.ru”, will be included in the service’s recommendation system and will be able to additionally monetize their materials.

Egor Ganin, Deputy Vice President of Mail.ru Group, noted: “Video viewing is growing. According to forecasts, by 2022, 79% of all Internet traffic in Russia will come from online video. But video production is a complex and expensive process that most media outlets cannot afford. In the editor from “Look Mail.ru“You can create news and reportage videos in high quality and absolutely free. We are confident that our technology will increase the amount of high-quality news video content “

When creating virtual presenters of Mail.ru Group, machine learning methods were used. The speech synthesis is based on the developments of the voice assistant Marusya. And the video image is synchronized with the speech in real time using the Vision computer vision system from the same Mail.ru, trained on real prototypes and video recordings. You can get acquainted with the platform right now – just be a registered user of Mail.ru.
